The economy is subject to laws that are similar in principle to those that affect physical objects, a kind of thermo-dynamic relationship, where finance and the movement of money flows from low to high states, entities that have a lot of money tend towards getting more and more by virtue of their very existence and although political activity tries to mitigate this tendency, by curious means it always seems to lag behind or fall short of being effective.
